Infant and Toddler program – Birth to 36 months old
We have two beautiful, calming and relaxing classrooms dedicated to our Infant/Toddler program. Both classrooms can welcome twelve infant/Toddlers. Our program runs Monday thru Friday from 6:45 am to 5:45 pm.
At Children of the Island each child in our Infant/Toddler program is assigned an Infant/Toddler certified educator. That educator will have 4 children in her care. From the child’s first day the caregiver will work in partnership with parents with the goal of ensuring consistent care and a trusting reciprocal relationship with families. Personal care routines (toileting, feeding, and napping experiences) with a child’s assigned educator builds a secure and trusting relationship by fulfilling the infant/toddler’s need for unhurried, one to one dialogue, co-operative participation in their care and warm individual attention.
Infants and toddlers learn a lot about the world around them through their senses, which is why exploration is critical to their development. We have designed our classrooms with safety in mind and filled them full of engaging toys and activities that offer a whole range of sensory experiences. Our dedicated and nurturing educators will support and encourage your child while exploring, whether it’s through finger painting, playing with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time.
